Bellwether Elite CS Aires
Jersey and Chronos
Bib Short
Technical, high quality, and perfect
for summer riding, the latest from
Bellwether took us by complete
surprise. The Aires jersey is made
with seriously advanced fabrics. The
strategic mesh inserts actually break
down water droplets to accelerate
evaporation, and the X-Forma fabric
uses dual-filament yarns to draw
moisture away from the skin. The
Chronos bib utilizes Bellwether’s
top chamois, the Physio, with four
separate densities of foam and a
perineal channel for ultimate long-day
comfort. The fabrics do everything
they should, wick moisture, breath,
and provide support while still feeling
like a comfortable knit fabric against
the skin. Among the very best bibs
we have ever worn, for an incredible
price. Jersey fit is quite relaxed, so
riders looking for a tight fit will want
to size down. PRICES: $80 (jersey);

Assos superLight Jersey and
T FI.Mille _S5 Bib Short
When it gets truly hot, it’s important
to think outside the box, or perhaps
beyond the sleeve. The Assos
superLight jersey is sleeveless. Ultra
light, extreme breathablity, micro-fiber fabric and huge mesh panels
keep you extremely cool. A 3/4-zip
and three full pockets in back confirm
the jersey’s road heritage. For hot
weather, long-mile comfort, combined
with the ability to race hard, the T
FI.Mille_S5 bibs are tough to beat.
With monster “waffle” padding
under the sit bones for cool comfort
when the pressure is off, the chamois
is thin and malleable under the
perineum for freedom of movement
when you’re on the tip of your saddle.
The bibs have UV protection and
a 4-panel cut for slight compression
with freedom of movement, but order
the long leg version if you‘re over
5’ 10.” PRICES: $150 (jersey); $260

Capo Padrone Jersey and
Bib Short
Since “padrone,” in Italian, means
“master,” it’s fitting that the Padrone
jersey and bibs represent the pinnacle
of Capo’s Italian-made line up. The
jersey is available in crisp white with
black trim, for the perfect summer
garment. The fabrics are packed full
of technology: silver for breathability
and anti-microbial protection, carbon
for UV protection and moisture
transfer, Lycra with compression
and V-mesh for the perfect fit. The
Padrone bib is all about durability.
The Lycra is high-gauge, meaning
compression and abrasion resistance.
But it’s still ready for the heat, with
many of the same fabric technologies
as the jersey. A thick chamois with
dual density is ready for long miles.
Be prepared, the jersey fit is a bit
odd while standing in a changing
room, but on the bike it is sublime.
PRICES: $200 (jersey); $250 (bib
